p6 unit 35

You are learning how to run a business and you also have to consider any potential legal implications of using and editing graphical images.  It would be a disaster if you were taken to court and sued.  Do some research into this area and write a short report summarising you findings. You should aim to cover:
  • Copyright law
  • Intellectual property

Copyright is when a company creates their own logo and another company takes it without permission and uses it as their own.

.
For example this is originally made by Nike and this is their own trade mark to go with their own logo. Other companies may take it and use it as their own to make fake ripoffs of the real version. This is copyright.

Intellectual property is when a different person who has not come up with that idea, steals the idea that the other person has created.
.

For example, Dyson hoovers created their own hoover of a ball so it can move more easily and if this idea was stolen this is intellectual property as they come up with that idea themselves using their own knowledge.

A trademark is an image of something that represents the shop. For example, a bird is Hollister's trademark and represents Hollister.

  1. there, their, they're. capital letters. Apostrophes. Hyphens. Otherwise very good, apart from the confusing trademark example. Hoover is a brandname, BTW.
